Reminders

We will be closed on Monday 30th May for the bank holiday. Hope you all enjoy the long weekend!

Concept Photograph will be with us on the morning of Tuesday 31st May, please let staff know of any special requests you have for your child’s photograph during drop off, staff will be happy to accommodate changes of outfit etc.

Thank-you to all the parents who have been remembering to bring in a sun hat for their child. Please can all parents try to ensure that there is a sun hat and sun-cream (if necessary) left in your child’s bag at all times as we can often be caught off guard with the weather.

Dates for your diary

Our annual fun-day will be taking place on Saturday 2nd July from 11.30AM – 1.30PM. Appointment slots will be available in the foyer towards the end of June should you wish to book an appointment to see your child’s key-worker.

We have booked a bouncy castle, magician and a professional face painter. We hope many of you are able to attend. An email will follow shortly with further information.

Vintage for Victory

June Newsletter

We are extremely proud to be sponsoring a local event which will be taking place in the local community in July. The event will be a Vintage event similar to the Goodwood Revival. Although on a much smaller scale called "Vintage for Victory" This will be a lovely family event for all the family to attend. There will be:

Vintage Music, Dancing, Merchandise Stalls, Food Vendors, Performers, Static displays, Massive Kids Street Party -"Everything Vintage"

The event will be located in the Library Gardens in Whitchurch Village and takes place on 15/16/17 July ,to coincide with the period of the Battle of Britain It is of course the Queens 90th Birthday this year so this will be a prominent feature as well. The hope is that the community will really get behind the event and all are encouraged to attend and enter into the spirit and dress in period costume of the 40s/50s/60s

We will be carrying out our event at nursery on Friday 15th July where children are welcome to attend in fancy dress as mentioned above and we will hosting our own vintage tea-party for the children.

Sponsored Events

You should all receive your sponsor packs early next week, these will be found in your child’s baskets. All staff have been extremely busy planning extra fun activities around the coloured and themed topic days.

The sponsored events will be taking part over the week beginning 20th June so all children will get the take part in at least one event.

Monday 20th – RED DAY (Disney Themed day)

Tuesday 21st – YELLOW DAY (Odd sock day)

Wednesday 22nd – BLUE DAY (Spots & stripes)

Thursday 23rd – GREEN DAY (Pyjama/Onesie)

Friday 24th - RAINBOW DAY (Favourite colour)

We would be grateful if children can come in dressed in the set days colour or take part in the themed event. If you child doesn’t own anything of the particular colour any accessory or by just bringing in an item / object of the days colour would be great. All these items/ objects will be displaced in the foyer and used by the different groups throughout the days to explore in different ways (circle time sessions, feely boxes, memory games, treasure baskets) we thank-you in advance for all support.

Many photos of all our sponsored events will be displayed for parents to see during the Fun-day.

Some of the fun activities we will be carrying out over the week will include;

Coloured sand play, magic mud, colour sorting, exploring sensory play-dough, sensory bottles, rainbow walking, bubble blower painting, rainbow in a bag, magic milk, exploring coloured spaghetti, making sun catchers, creating a Lego rainbow and much more.

Quality of Care Report

We hope that you all received our latest copy of our Quality of Care Report and that it made an interesting read. Looking back over the past year we are all very happy with the nurseries achievements and are already working on our action plan. Please remember that your views and ideas are always gratefully received at any time of the year.

Health and safety

Katie from practical safety solutions will be visiting us next week to carry out our annual fire risk assessment and to induct our new house keeping staff with various health and safety information.

Toileting / biting Packs

We are busy at present updating our toileting and biting packs, these will be able for parents to borrow shortly on request. On the subject of toilet training, please can we request that children are dressed sensibly when first toilet training or when toileting themselves as many children are having difficulties with certain items of clothing such as playsuits and dungarees. Thank-you

Revamping book areas

Over the coming months we will be revamping the book areas in all age groups, making book baskets so these too can be enjoyed out in the garden in our reading area. We have already ordered a large number of new books but would be grateful that if you are having a sort out at home and come across ones that your child has outgrown to kindly donate them to nursery, we would be extremely grateful.
